If you follow me on Instagram then you have probably already seen bits and pieces of Chris and I’s kitchen nook but I thought with a new addition to this space it was the perfect time to share this space a bit more. I’ve always dreamed of a kitchen filled with natural light with a feeling of cozy and airiness. While I can’t get enough of cooking in our white kitchen i’d have to say the kitchen nook is where my heart is happiest.
One day I imagine this space being where our kids enjoy pancakes breakfasts and learn more about God over dinners with their grandparents. For now though this nook area currently is the main eat in area where we enjoy weekend brunches and casual family dinners. Orignally we picked out this lighting fixture thinking that it would look nice but then Pinterest got me! AGAIN! I quickly became fascinated with the look of a beaded chandelier over our dining table. Isn’t it gorgeous? Complete transformation for sure! Another thing I love about this space is the table we chose to go with. It’s an extending table which goes from a round to oval table. Just incase! I know your thinking. Don’t you have the formal dining room? We do but I like that one for special occasions.
I get so many questions on these chairs when I share pictures of this space on Instagram. I made sure to link them below for you. I had seen these bistro chairs in grey and white but I really loved the idea of adding in a pop of navy blue. It goes great with the mint accessories and cookware. Another question I get asked is “what style would you call your home?” I never really know how to answer this so if you have any ideas i’d love to hear them. Normally I just say a little transitional, french and cottage.
I could all day spend all day here in this kitchen nook with my warm cup of coffee or chai tea reading cook books and watching the boys play in the backyard.
Happy Friday Friends! If there are any specific home posts you like to suggest just let me know. I’m thinking my next lifestyle post will be on organization so stay tuned!
