5 Outerwear Items You Should Get

sleeveless vest - macys - maison jules - how to wear a sleeveless vest
Yesterday I started organizing MY closet, I say mine because lets face it no matter how big Christopher and I’s closet is he really only gets a small portion of it lol. Anyway as I was organizing my closet I started to notice my outerwear selection and I was pretty impressed with it if I do say so myself. Here are my current top 5 favorites outerwear items and a few new pieces i’m looking forward to wearing.
Starting with the infamous sleeveless vest. This is not only my favorite for adding a layer to long sleeved dresses but it also can be a darling addition to a chunky sweater and leggings. You can opt for either buttoning the vest, leaving it open or sinching the waist with a statement belt. Shop a similar one here

pink bomber jacket - jcpenny - trixxi - outerwear bomber jacket
Next up is the bomber jacket. This trend is one that I was a little bit hesitant with at first but decided on trying it on in a pretty pink color. So far with jacket I have worn it with skinny jeans and a simple tee but I could stop there so I even tried girly it up a bit and styled it with a shimmer skirt (worn here).
red coat - bernardo fashion - long coat - outerwear - nordstrom
My third piece is one that I crushed hard on last year. Long coats some think are just for tall women but I’m here to tell you they are for petite women as well. One way I love to wear them is with denim and pumps. While you might be thinking of course heels! but thats not the only way to wear it. I’ve also worn it with a faux leather skirt and pointed toe flats. This long coat is a must to add to the list. THIS ONE IS 50% off
trench coat - short trench coat - how to wear a trench coat - banana republic
An item that I am always taking with me is a classic trench coat. A trench coat goes with just about anything. I love adding a trench coat with little black dresses and one of my ultimate faves dressier blouses with either denim or frilly skirts. The possibilities are really endless when it comes to this closet staple.
moto jacket - nordstrom - blank NYC - black jacket - faux leather
Before we go lets just talk moto jackets because this is one piece of outerwear I will let go of. Last year I purchased this one from blank NYC and paired it with a few dresses to edge them up a bit. And since this trend is just too good you have to have an extra one just in case! I’ve incorporated this quilted moto jacket to my collection. Moto jackets come in all sorts of colors so you can sneak in a brown one as well because you have to have one in brown, grey and burgundy too lol.
OH WAIT! The two new items i’m looking forward to styling have got to be this double breasted pea coat and the puffer jacket. What about you! What are your favorite outerwear items?
Ok loves I’m back to unpacking and getting settled into the new house!
