There is nothing more to me then a warm apple crumble that says fall to me. Along with the Peach Melba recipe I also found this one from the Good Housekeeping August Issue. Trust me when I say that this Apple Pear Crisp recipe will have your guests wanting more! And besides who doesn’t love a warm apple pear center and peanut butter crumble topping ! So lets hop into fall shall we !
1/2 cup old fashioned oats
3 small Galla Apples (peeled and chopped )
2 medium pear (peeled and chopped )
1 Tbsp. water
2 tsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/3 cup chunky sweetened peanut butter
3 Tbsp. whole wheat flour
1/4 c fat free whipped cream
1. Preheat oven to 375* F Spread oats in single layer on jelly roll pan. Toast 5-8 min. or until golden brown, stirring once halfway through.
2. Meanwhile, in 4-qt. saucepan, combine apples, pears, water, sugar, cinnamon and ginger. Cook on med. 10 to 12 min. or until sugar dissolves and fruit softens, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Stir in cranberries; divide mixture among 6 shallow 12 to 16 oz. baking dishes.
3. In medium bowl combine oats, peanut butter and flour, with fingers, rub to form small clumps; sprinkle over fruit mixture in baking dishes. Bake 15 to 20 min. or until browned and bubbling. To server, top each with 1 Tbsp. whipped cream.
